Divi 5 and RankMath: Does it work?

by Darko | Jun 12, 2025 | Divi 5, General, Reviews | 0 comments

Is RankMath good for Divi websites?

I’m using RankMath on most of my sites for SEO purposes, and I’m using it on this very site too. There are some differences in the way Divi 5 treats texts and how the Visual Builder does, so here’s a quick overview of how Divi 5 and RankMath cooperate.

First, let’s answer the question above.

Yes, RankMath is good for Divi websites. Actually, most of the SEO plugins you’ll find out there are good, and you’ll definitely want one of them installed. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is hugely important in the life of a website, because if no one can find you online, you’ll guess it – you don’t exist. Ergo, you are certainly not going to sell much, or promote much, or whatever the goal of your website is.

RankMath is my SEO plugin of choice.

RankMath – Divi Compatibility

Like mentioned above, I’m using RankMath on most of my sites. I’ve used many others at some point, including Yoast, AIOSEO etc. Then I’ve tested RankMath and I liked it enough that it became my SEO plugin of choice.

RankMath is fully compatible with Divi 4 Visual Builder. That means you see all the RankMath’s functions directly inside the builder and there’s no need to jump from Edit to Edit With Divi to do the SEO-related tasks. This i how it looks inside Divi 4 builder.

These are the standard icons inside Visual Builder, and the right-most icon is RankMath. By clicking it, the RankMath popup shows.

Right here, you can do anything SEO-related that can be done in RankMath, never having to leave the Visual Builder and editing in the basic edit mode. It’s a huge time-saver, and of course a very welcome functionality.

Divi 5, on the other hand, is still in its Alpha Release. Although Elegant Themes claim it to be perfectly stable, just missing certain functionalities from Divi 4, this Alpha thing means it’s still under heavy construction. Nobody knows exactly how – or what – will still change inside the Divi 5 core, so it does not make sense to build something compatible with something that might be different tomorrow.

The RankMath team therefore clearly stated that their product is not yet fully compatible with Divi 5 Visual Builder. If you were looking for it inside the builder, good luck – it’s just not there.

To make it perfectly clear:

RankMath is still fully compatible with Divi 5, it’s just not included inside the Divi 5 Visual builder in Alpha release.

The second thing anyone using it may have noticed is that while it works perfectly when editing a post (or a page) inside the default editor, it has certain problems reading the data if the post or page is built with Divi however. This means that the data RankMath is returning, like the stats about your keywords and SEO score, can be wrong as you type.

Here’s the story.

RankMath inside the standard WordPress editor

When working on SEO settings inside a post built with the Gutenberg editor, RankMath works exactly as you would expect it to work. It shows the stats, returning data, showing the SEO rating and so on. I am watching it on the right as I’m typing right now.

Divi 5 and RankMath

When I enter a page I’ve just built with Divi 5 Visual Builder and check the RankMath’s settings, it might happen that these are all blank. RankMath claims that there’s no text on the page, that your keywords are nowhere to be found, in short – your SEO rating is 0. Zero.

This is a perfect example of how Divi 5 is different from Divi 4. At first, RankMath simply does not see the content of the page, because it’s formated differently and not with shortcodes as it was in Divi 4.

RankMath is also not shown inside Divi 5 Visual builder right now. This means you’ll have to follow a bit different workflow like this for instance:

  • create a page inside the WordPress dashboard (Add New)
  • type in the title, so the URL initializes
  • save the draft
  • click the Edit With Divi button, which will switch you to the Divi 5 Visual Builder
  • when finished, close the Vidual Builder and click Edit page
  • do the RankMarh settings in here
  • publish.

In short, there’s some additional work to be done, but I believe RankMath will be ready when Divi 5 is.

RankMath works perfectly

Don’t let this fool you – RankMath still works perfectly and a simple Save and Reload usually helps, so the stats show up. Divi 5 and RankMath still cooperate like they should, and these small problems will dissapear once Divi 5 is published in its final release.

I’ve checked some settings inside RankMath and then compared the outcome within Divi 5 pages. Like I said, it works perfectly, and all the changes I make inside the RankMath console are immediately visible on the front. That is, after a refresh/reload is initialized, of course. So don’t panic, if you’re used to RankMath, use it.

RankMath Pricing

The Pro version, which I warmly recommend, is actually available to anyone. The basic pricing starts at $6.99 per month right now and you’re not limited by the number of sites you want to use it on. Read that again: you get unlimited sites license.

The only thing limited is the number of tracked keywords, which in basic version is 500.

Divi 5 and RankMath – Conclusion

I’ve tested and I believe that Divi 5 and RankMath are working flawlessly. Once Divi 5 is out with its final release, I’m sure RankMath will publish the version perfectly compatible with the new Divi 5 Visual Builder.

Divi 5 and RankMath are still perfect companions, even right now while Divi 5 is in Alpha. It’s only going to get better.
